What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment with minimal downtime and works by creating tiny punctures to the skin using a sterile needle cartridge. These sterile cartridges are 1 person use and are disposed of in a clinical waste sharps box after every use. The microneedling pen device creates tiny punctures to the skin, and is thought to trigger the bodies natural healing response, in tern creating new collagen and improved elasticity production, rejuvenating the overall appearance and the skin health.

Collagen & elastin

Collagen and elastin are 2 proteins that we are born with and ultimately we need for good skin quality and firmness. As we age it is thought that collagen decreases by 1 - 2% per year from the age of 25. A loss of collagen can lead to sagging of the skin, wrinkles and fine lines.

Which areas of the skin can microneedling be used to treat?

The secret to microneedling is it can treat anywhere on the skin. At Cove Coast Cosmetics our most commonly treated areas include:

  1. Face

  2. Neck
